A Cozy Family Room for Christmas

Good morning friends! Grab your coffee and let’s talk all things cozy!
I can officially say that I’m in full throttle from today until December 25th!!
This is my favorite time of the year, I love all the mushy Hallmark movies, holiday baking, gift wrapping, Christmas caroling and spending time with the kiddos.
I started my Christmas decorating last Sunday, and I am excited to share with you our family room. We have one big tree which we fill with all of our special ornaments. As we decorate the tree we reminisce about the history of each ornament. This is one of my favorite parts of decorating.

I decided to go with a “Red” theme this year. I moved my blanket basket to the opposite side of the fireplace, to make room for the tree. So I simply styled the blanket basket with some of my favorite Christmas pillows…ezzy pezzy! And that ugly television above the mantel always gives me trouble. I added two lanterns on each end of the mantel which I picked up from Walmart along with two red bulbs in front of each one. I then hung my BELIEVE swag with some twinkling lights that I’ve had for years. I used a small DIY honey comb swag to hang on the lantern that sits on the hearth of the fireplace. A single red bulb added a pop of color to my tobacco basket on the other side. I’m waiting on my red striped pillows to arrive, which will be placed on each end of the sectional and I will add my favorite red blanket for the finishing touch.

I’m loving how this space is coming together this year, and I think it has such a cozy feel. This is a perfect spot to curl up with a blanket, a good book and of course have a few Christmas cookies….right?

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I hope this provides you with some inspiration!
XOXO,
Sandy
