Decorating 101

Happy Monday friends! Those short weeks we've had over the holidays sure have been nice, but like the saying goes "all things must come to an end." Grab a cup of coffee and let's begin our week talking about decorating.

Towards the end of 2018, I mentioned I would be offering a FREE decorating 101 class. Well today's blog will start a series of five decorating 101 classes.

Let's get started with lesson one.

Decorating your house can be a lot of fun, but it's also a daunting task. How do I maintain personal style without everything looking thrown together or mismatched? Making each room flow into the next might seem difficult, but what I'm going to share with you in this series will help you achieve the house of your dreams.

First choose your style, an easy way to make your home design unified is to have a common theme throughout . If your not sure what your style is head over to Pinterest and create a board of room photos that catch your eye or look through magazines and cut out photos of rooms you love. As you do this you will start to know what your attracted to, is it modern farmhouse, traditional, vintage etc. or you may already know what your style is. If you're not quite sure what your style is take this quiz by BHG, it's one of my favorites to help you determine your style.

Once your style has been determined keep in mind you don't want everything to "match" we want different elements of your style/theme to flow room to room.
