The Forgotten Holiday

Well, it’s here guys! Today is Friday for some of us and if it’s not try to think there is only one more work day to the weekend 😊!
Many of us have had the itch to start decorating early for Christmas this year. I typically wait to the day after Thanksgiving but this year I couldn’t help myself.
As I was looking at the twinkling lights the other night, I thought to myself with retailers decorating earlier and earlier each year Thanksgiving has become the forgotten holiday. I sat down to write this blog to share with you what I even forget.
For many of us, the meaning of Thanksgiving usually includes feasting, four-day weekends, football games, floats, family reunions, or a forerunner to Christmas festivities. The “first Thanksgiving,” however, was neither a feast nor a holiday, but a simple gathering. The true meaning of Thanksgiving focuses upon relationship. So many of us get caught up in our day to day life and are ready to prepare for Christmas we forget this. Take time to enjoy Thanksgiving and remember the true meaning.
Blessings,
Sandy
